Abstract
Outside the audible range of 16 hz to 16 khz, effects on the human organism may occur, for example in the area below 16 hz - so-called infrasonic noise. Measurements of noise inside moving vehicles were carried out with the aim of establishing the spectral composition of noise loading on the occupants in the infrasound area from 0.4 hz up to the audible range. Vehicle speed, ventilation and window openings were varied. It was established that 90-98 percent of all noise intensity is in the infrasound area. Resonance occurred in the frequency area. Resonances greater than 10 decibels occurred almost exclusively in frequencies below 100 hz. (TRRL)
