Abstract
This paper reported the recent research topics on seismic engineering of bridges in Japan. The revisions of seismic design specifications for highways after Kobe earthquake in 1995 were introduced especially, for the purpose of providing references and comparative materials to Chinese researchers and engineers in bridge engineering.
