Abstract

The results of a study of the effects of diaphragms on load distribution of continuous, straight, right slab and girder highway bridges are presented and di scussed. The parameters for the study are•: the re lati ve gi rder stiffness, H; the ratio of the girder spacing to span, b/a; the beam spacing, b; and the position and the stiffness of the diaphragms.Load distribution characteristics of bridges subjected to a single load, 4-wheel loadings aligned in the transverse direction and two truck loadings were studied.
