Abstract
In this report, a review of literature available on pavement management systems (PMS) is presented. It is organized around the four building blocks of the pavement maintenance procedure: (1) data acquisition; (2) pavement performance evaluation and priority ranking; (3) types of maintenance strategies; and (4) methodologies for a PMS. In conclusion, the uses and benefits of a PMS are listed.
