Abstract

Exploratory trawl fishing operations were \nconducted by the Indo-Norwegian Project authorities \nwith Karwar as base from November 1963 to May 1966. \nThree vessels, namely, Karwar-1, Ml/M4 and INP 167 \nwith 90, 48 and 24 HP engines respectively were \ncommissioned for the purpose. The data collected \nfrom these vessels is utilized to show the trawl \nfishing of the grounds, favourable seasons for trawling, t h e q u a l i t y and distribution \nof the catch, the catch rate per unit of effort , \netc. in time and space
