Abstract

This paper looks into the main causes of accidents at blackspot locations along the major Federal Roads in Malaysia and proposes actions to prevent or minimize the probability of similar accidents. It also looks into the need for training programs for road engineers, review of current design guidelines and road safety campaigns (from an engineering point of view) that need to be carried out by JKR Malaysia, other Road Authorities and local consultants to minimize road accidents and road accident fatalities in Malaysia.
