Abstract
The most common method of reinstatement has been excavation and substitution with granular fill. Development of geogrid reinforcement techniques has made reinstatement using the foundered soil an economic alternative. These techniques are illustrated by two recent studies. For the covering abstract of the symposium see IRRD 286603. (Author/TRRL)
