Abstract

TheSimen Mountains National Park (SMNP) represents one of the most outstanding natural areas and is a paramount specimen of world’s natural heritage. Because of its rich biodiversity, its high number of endemic species and its paramount bio-physical features, the SMNP is of international significance and has been declared as one of the first sites all over the world a “World Heritage Site” by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in 1978.
