ROAD ACCIDENTS INCREASE - WHAT TO DO?

Abstract

The seventies saw a continuous decline in traffic accidents in Finland, but the trend is changing and road accidents are on the increase once again. Statistics are presented showing the involvement of various categories of road user in accidents and the location of accidents. Wider use of mass media for public information, retraining of delinquent drivers and emphasis on safety measures for urban areas where the majority of accidents takes place are stressed. (TRRL)
