Abstract
The report presents in detail the development of a mathematical model which describes the essential mechanical-dynamic characteristics of the cable in a moored buoy system, under the influence of wave excitation, current, and wind. This system consists of a surface floating buoy connected to the ocean floor by a flexible line. An analysis of the effects of instrument packages, or other weights attached to the cable, is presented as is a study of slack and taut type moorings. The environmental factors contributing significantly to the system's motion are current, wind and surface waves.(Author)
