Abstract

DCOM was that communication standard extended to work over a Client-Server network, WAN or even the Internet. Now, the whole thing is referred to as COM. Distributed Applications must not only be based on robust COM component programming but also have to be aware of the network addressing system, security, transactions between objects and the network architecture they work on - this is the subject of the book.
