Abstract

In March 1991 TUV Rheinland published the first issue of safety requirements for high-speed Maglev trains. The revision of these requirements started in 1983 and is still going on. The experience gained by running the Maglev system at TVE, the TRANSRAPID trial field in Emsland, Germany and discussions with experts from U.S. Department of Tramsportation are also included in this new document.
