SHRP'S CUTTING EDGE. SHRP TURNS TO IMPLEMENTATION

The Strategic Highway Research Program produced 130 new tests, specifications, devices and reports in the areas of asphalt, concrete and structures, pavement engineering, and highway operations. These have been validated by testing and evaluation, and earned the SHRP seal of approval. This article describes how the Federal Highway Administration and other agencies are spearheading activities to get these products into use. It is pointed out that SHRP's 'Product Catalog' provides an overview of the results of SHRP research and product summaries. A July conference in Seattle will summarize the results of the 5-year SHRP effort and outline steps to implement the products. An additional 80 reports will continue to be published throughout this year.
