Abstract

The speaker discusses aviation safety, including public perceptions of aviation safety, the safety facts, improvements in aviation safety over the years, and the cooperative efforts of aviation organizations and the aviation industry to improve aviation safety. The activities of the Flight Safety Foundation, the ICAO Safety Oversight Program, the United States International Aviation Safety Assessment program, and the Integrated Safety Management System at Schiphol Airport are all described.
