This article briefly discusses the initiatives at San Diego International Airport (SDIA) to understand community concerns about aircraft noise, to inform the residents about measures to mitigate aircraft-related noise, and to seek solutions to the issues related to aircraft noise. These efforts have contributed to better public understanding of the benefits of airport operations for the community and of the efforts to deal with aircraft noise issues.
