Abstract

Diseases are among the greatest deterrents to the sustained production in \naquaculture. White spot diseases (WSD) in cultured shrimp and epizootic ulcerative \nsyndrome (EUS) in fishes have amply demonstrated the serious impact of disease in \naquaculture. Aquaculture medicine, which broadly encompasses prevention and \nmanagement of diseases in cultured aquatic organisms, becomes a vital requirement for a \nsustained industry.
