Adult Education as a Means of Enhancing Food Security in Nigeria

This paper is concerned with the problem of food insecurity in Nigeria and the consequences of food insecurity on the masses. It looks at the concept of food security, importance of food security to the people, causes of food insecurity, consequences of food insecurity and government’s efforts in ensuring food security in Nigeria. The role of Adult Education programmes for the enhancement of Food Security such as improving awareness through mass literacy, community development, agricultural extension services and cooperative societies will help to boost food security in Nigeria.
