Geotextiles in Australian roads: a review

Abstract

Geotextile fabrics are now widely used by Australian roadmakers for a variety of purposes. This paper presents a review of past and current use of geotextile fabrics in Australian roads. It discusses the applications of the design by function concept to geotextiles and the development of Australian geotextile test standards. It provides some indication of the future for geotextiles in Australia (a).
