Abstract
The near infrared absorption spectra of $^{12}C^{18}O_{2}$ have been obtained using a vacuum prismgrating spectrograph with a resolution of about $0.03 cm^{-1}$. A one-meter absorption path was used with pressures ranging from 4 mm Hg to 10 cm Hg. The vibrational transitions $(10^{\\circ}1, 02^{\\circ}1)_{I}-00^{\\circ}0, (10^{\\circ}1, 02^{\\circ}1)_{II}-00^{\\circ}0, (20^{\\circ}1, 04^{\\circ}1)_{I}-00^{\\circ}0, (20^{\\circ}1, 04^{\\circ}1)_{II}-00^{\\circ}0, (20^{\\circ}1, 04^{\\circ}1)_{III}-00^{\\circ}0$, and their associated ``hot'' bands were observed and the structure has been analyzed to obtain the vibrational energy levels. In addition, the corresponding rotational constants and band contours are of interest with respect to the recent observations of carbon dioxide absorption spectra in the atmosphere of Venus.
