Abstract
The purpose of the method described is to determine and eliminate unbalanced wheel pressures of railroad vehicles without having to cope with statically indeterminant conditions of the load transfer to the track and without having to measure the loads. This is achieved by placing at least one of the wheel sets on a compensating beam able to carry out rotary movements in respect of the center line of the track, and then measuring, with precision, the thickness of the shim plates which must be placed below one set of springs to balance the load.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
