Abstract
The range of marine simulators available for different purposes are surveyed, including the single instrument simulator, radar simulator, navigation simulator, engine room simulator, cargo handling simulator, maneuver simulator, full mission bridge simulator, and simulators combining two or more of these functions. It is explained how simulator use saves time and money in training, and results in safer and more economical ship operation.
