The new Norwegian approach to road safety inspections

Road safety inspection is a systematic work method contributing to safer roads and safer road traffic. Road safety inspection is defined as a systematic review of an existing road with the intention of uncovering conditions of potential hazard to road users. This paper describes the basic method for undertaking road safety inspections in Norway. Undertaking road safety inspections and inspections is a central means in the vision zero effort. Road safety inspection experiences show that existing roads often have a number of design flaws that can result in serious accidents. It is therefore important to review existing roads. A way to ensure that additional kilometers of existing road are being reviewed is to make the process simpler and less formal. A new method of road safety inspections has therefore been developed to speed up the process (A). For the covering abstract of the conference see ITRD E212343.
