Abstract

The high speed service that is available for both railroads and rapid transit is examined. Frequent, reliable, affordable passenger trains have increased ridership and brought about an awareness as to its mobility and environmental benefits. Intercity, rapid transit, light rail and regional/commuter services are discussed.
