Abstract

This paper presents a noise barrier design system which can predict and evaluate the traffic noise reduction degree by the barrier and give the optimum design of barriers. A simple noise barrier in San Yimiao interchange was designed by using the design system in 1994. The traffic noise reduction by this barrier is measured and tested in the field and found 5-10 dB (A) was reduced. The structure design is characterized by safe and ease of installation.
