CORRIDORS FOR TOLL TRUCKWAYS: SUGGESTED LOCATIONS FOR PILOT PROJECTS

Robert W. Poole, P Samuel

Open publisher page 17 citations

Abstract

This paper addresses possible locations for a pilot project that would add truck tollways on interstate highways. It also mentions the benefits of adding toll truckways to the highways. These barrier-separated truckways would increase highway capacity, save money on freight shipping (by using longer combination vehicles), help decrease traffic congestion, and address safety concerns of large trucks on highways. The pilot project is aimed at gaining federal policy change to allow the interstate truck tollways.
