China Implements the Worlds Biggest Railway Project

Abstract
China's rapid growth is causing overcrowding of its existing passenger and freight railroad network. The Chinese government is undertaking a huge expansion project that calls for construction of new rail lines. Parts of new and existing passenger and freight lines will be converted to run on electric power. High speed trains will be added on some passenger lines. The project is expected to be complete by 2015.
