Abstract

Article discussing implementation of a computer program for pavement management at airport runways. The integrated airport pavement management system (IAPMS) is in use at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey's three airports -- JFK International (JFK), Newark International Airport (EWR), and LaGuardia Airport (LGA). The IAPMS uses a desktop computer workstation to store all historical data and pavement records required to perform the forecast analysis. The program uses standard design/evaluation models to perform all structural (load carrying capacity) and functional (surface condition) evaluations and to predict remaining pavement life.
