Abstract

Since 1973 catalytic converters were fixed to used cars and expected to be installed in new models in order to satisfy emission standards. This study describes the effectiveness and durability of co and hc catalytic converters under various engine working conditions, the thermal effects of the heated converters on car bodies and components, and discusses secondary converter pollutants such as catalyst particle emissions. /TRRD/
