The effect of Supertonik application to Aphis gossypii Glover (Homoptera: Aphididae) reared on eggplantIn this study, the effect of plant growth regulator Supertonik to Aphis gossypii Glover (Homoptera: Aphididae) was investigated.The three concentrations of Supertonik (25, 50, 75 ml/100 l water) were applied to eggplants and were compared with the control group.Results revealed that the lifespan of the mature aphids were decreased erlatively, while the lifespan of premature phases of A. gossypii at 50 and 75 ml was prolonged.Also the effect of Supertonik at 25 ml was found to be identical with the control group.It was also found that, the death rate of A.gossypii at 50 and 75 ml have increased 50 % as compared to the control group.However, the deleterious effects of applications disappeared on F1 siblings of surviving aphid individuals subjected to Supertonik.
