FARE-DEMAND ELASTICITIES IN PUBLIC TRANSPORT AS IT APPLIES TO CHILE

Abstract

This work reviews some information available on the characteristics of public transport fares demand elasticities. Several methods proposed and values estimated for these elasticities for different situations are presented. Finally, elasticities calculated with information observed for the case of a Chilean sub-urban bus company and of the Santiago metro are also presented. (Author/TRRL)
