Abstract

Epinephelus diacanthus, locally known as \n"hekru" has assumed commercial importance \nin view of their good quality meat and greater \nconsumer demand in local and export markets \nboth in live as well as frozen forms. Groupers \nconstitute an important component of demersal \nfishery resource of India and form 2% of total \nmarine landings in India.
