Abstract

Die erste Eisenbahn-Hochgeschwindigkeitsstrecke Grossbritanniens - Channel Tunnel Rail Link (CTRL) - wird den Kanaltunnel mit der City von London verbinden. Der erste Bauabschnitt (74 km) mit dem North-Downs-Tunnel wird im September 2003 in Betrieb genommen und der zweite 39 km lange Abschnitt, dessen Tunnel sich noch im Bau befinden und 60 Prozent Streckenanteil haben, erst im Jahr 2007. (A) ABSTRACT IN ENGLISH: The United Kingdom's first high-speed rail route - the Channel Tunnel Rail Link (CTRL) - will connect the Channel Tunnel with central London. The first construction section (74 km) that includes the North Downs Tunnel is scheduled to go into operation in September 2003 and the second 39 km long section in 2007. The tunnels on this second section account for 60 percent of the route. (A)
