Abstract
The author discusses the role of traffic law enforcement in preventing traffic accidents and traffic accident fatalities. He notes that punishment of violators is crucial if we are to decrease traffic accidents. He discusses a successful traffic school run by the metropolitan police department, in Washington, D.C., in 1948. He also describes the role of the traffic court in decreasing traffic accident deaths.
