Abstract

The process of European Union accession and the launch of the Economic and Monetary Union pose opportunities and challenges for the ten central European countries (CECs) that are candidates to join the Union. Issues related to European accession were discussed at two European Borrowers network events in 1999 in Paris and Prague. This publication contains the papers presented, and the findings of these seminars.
