Abstract
The objective of this paper is to demonstrate the difference between member reliability and system reliability of typical bridge systems. Recent advances in reliability theory have led to the development of efficient methods for studying the reliability of structural systems. The applicability of some of these methods to the analysis of common type bridge systems is discussed. An example illustrating the difference between the reliability of a bridge system compared to the reliability of its members is presented.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Application details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
