Abstract
This study identifies future research and development (RD research studies in partnership with industry associations; and public transportation intelligent transportation systems development and deployment initiatives. The study makes five recommendations to guide Transport Canada in investing in bus transportation industry R&D, including a recommendation that the investment in new bus technology be supported by federal government financial incentives to encourage the purchase of lighter-weight, more fuel-efficient and technologically advanced buses.
