Abstract

This study found that HOV lanes are viable in the Nashville MPO area. It recommended that the HOV lanes be constructed as concurrent flow lanes. This configuration was chosen because of the recommendation that the lane operate with peak period restriction of 2 or more persons per vehicle. The study also concluded that the HOV lanes could be constructed on the selected corridors and construction costs were developed.
