Abstract

The United States Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP) is a concentrated five year research effort aimed at overcoming major problems facing that nation's highways. SHRP is scheduled to complete its task in March 1993 and the outputs of the work will be available to all. The Australian SHRP Liaison Committee was set up to handle contact with SHRP, and to ensure that research products of value to Australia are identified and implemented. The Committee has established networks of contacts in Australian road authorities, industry and other organisations These networks review SHRP outputs and assist with technology transfer. A two part Implementation Strategy has been developed to guide the process.
