Abstract

Since 1992, the ministere des transports du Quebec has been working on designing and implementing a traffic management system for the primary roads in the Greater Montreal area. The objective of this system is to reduce the impact of congestion and improve safety on the highway network. The system enhances network reliability and contributes to improving the economic health of the entire region as well as the quality of life of its inhabitants.
