Abstract
A review is given of the characteristics of catamarans with special reference to hydrodynamics and research on seakeeping qualities of catamarans discussed. A catamaran design method, including economic analysis and proper calculation of the seakeeping performances, is being developed by Sea Transport Engineering N.V. Amsterdam. It is concluded that this ship design is inferior to a conventional one, except for extreme low-density cargo ships or special-purpose ships.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Application details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
