[Position of the mandibular foramen in relation to the width of the ramus and the gonial angle of the mandible].

Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the position of the mandibular foramen in relation to the width of the ramus and the gonial angle of the mandible. One hundred fourty-two dry human mandibles of adults were used. It was found that only the size of the gonial angle affects the anterioposterior position of the foramen. We didn't observe any relation between the inferior-superior position of the foramen and the above parameters.
