Abstract

This article describes plans for the California PATH Program to participate in two demonstrations of automated vehicles at Demo '98 in the Netherlands in June 1998. PATH will demonstrate automated platoon rides at full highway speed on a 5.5 km-long demonstration roadway and mini-demo rides at low speed on a short closed course. PATH will also participate at the Netherlands' Combi-Road consortium where an automated, driverless truck featuring PATH technology for hauling shipping containers on a test track will be demonstrated.
