Abstract

This paper, which ranges over existing UK legislation, policies and practice seeks to pose questions to traffic engineers based on experience with a local authority. The author also examines some restraint measures that have been and are being introduced such as residents' parking schemes and periods of restricted parking and discusses where these have been a success and where they have not.
