Abstract

This article briefly describes a project in the city of London, UK, to improve the skills and safety of users of small-capacity motorcycles (up to 250 cc). Run by the city's transport services operator and the police forces, the programme, ScooterSafe London, reflects skills required in an urban environment and encourages riders to undertake additional training. A second element, Antisocial ScooterSafe, is designed for 16-19 year old riders to encourage them to ride legally and take responsibility for their own actions. (A)
