Abstract
Mobility 2.0 stands for flexibility. The travelers expect services which take account of their individual situation. To them, information on these services should be accessible: always and everywhere. From a provider’s point of view, that means that the offered services and information have to be flexible and reflect the needs and desires of their customers. Mobility 2.0 requires the provision of continual services in the terms of information, navigation, booking and payment. The different means of transportation as well as related information and data have to be linked. In doing so, the full potential of modern technology has to be utilized. Up-to-date passenger information systems can make public transport more appealing to the customers. Sophisticated passenger information services need essential basics especially regarding the data management. The RMV invests continually in keeping its passenger information systems up-to-date. Examples of improvements which RMV has made include the new services on the online timetable information system as well as the services for mobile devices. With its fully accessible information services, the RMV takes account of the demographic changes affecting its population and focuses on the elderly and people with handicaps.
