Abstract
This paper describes how the problem of transport for handicapped persons is very current. It is part of the policies undertaken to improve the citizen’s life style and the principal preoccupation of the industrial countries. This question is generally addressed from the viewpoint of experiments already being carried out from that of the particular arrangements allowing the possibility of such undertakings. The author’s association was the first in France to concern itself with the transport of the physically disabled. It can be said, without false modesty, that it was the instigator of the whole process. The conclusions of the Interministry Working Party on he Problems posed by Transport for the Disabled (ARTAUD-MACARI) report, moreover, the exemplary nature of the public transport service for the handicapped in Nancy are presented.
