GENERAL SURVEY ON PAST AND FUTURE TREND OF MARINE DIESEL ENGINE DEVELOPMENT

Yoshihiro Izumi, Keijiro Tayama

Open publisher page 0 citations

Abstract

This paper gives an outline of recent technical developments and changes in diesel engines following the example of the Mitsubishi UE diesel engine, which has been exclusively developed with their own technology and research. It also discusses future trends and prospects for the development of optimised control systems and condition monitoring diagnosis systems, which will be implemented by introducing electronic systems into the machinery, to meet the fundamental requirements for high reliability and lower maintenance.
