Abstract

The article describes the Mayor's (Daley) Bicycle Advisory Council (MBAC) and its goals for establishing a city-wide policy regarding bicycles. The Bike 2000 Plan seeks to make the city of Chicago bicycle friendly by the year 2000. The MBAC have taken several steps towards plan implementation, including installing 300 bicycle parking spaces throughout the center of the city, and the improvement of signage on bicycle routes.
