Abstract

Propeller blade stresses are calculated using the three-dimensional, unsteady lifting surface theory and the finite element technique. Correlation With full scale measurements is given. Attention is paid to the dynamic aspects, especially with regard to the circumferential unsteadiness of the Wake field. A model technique is suggested with regard to blade vibrations for a propeller operating in water.
