Abstract
The paper summarizes the probabilistic background for calculation of load and resistance factors for a bridge design code. The work involves the development of load and resistance models, selection of the reliability analysis method and calculation of the reliable indices. The statistical data on load and resistance is reviewed. Load models are developed for live load and dynamic load. Resistance models are developed for girder bridges (steel, reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete). Reliability indices are calculated for bridges designed using the current AASHTO specifications.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Application details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
